Polarlight LASER searchlights

The latest generation LASER searchlight technology practially outperforms the mature gas discharge technology used in HMI and XBO searchlights.

Polarlight has developed the next generation marine searchlight based on laser technology called SL300LASER.

Laser is concidered as the forth and last generation light source after incandescent, tungsten, fluorescent, discharge and LED light. Laser brings searchlight technology a major step forward eliminating use of traditional bulbs, reflectors, ignitors and lamp ballasts. Laser searchlights are many times more powerful than any LED searchlights on the market.

The installation is much simpler than for a HMI or XBO searchlight, the light perfomance better than any searchlights on the market, the power consumption is very low, equal to LED and the amount of parts used during the manufacturing process is also heavily reduced compared to a searchlight based on traditional gas discharge lamp technology(HMI/XBO) or LED.

Laser searchlight technology practically outperforms the mature gas-discharge lamp technology used in HMI and XBO searchlights when it comes to performance, quality of light, lifetime, reduced maintenance, reduced installation cost and operational expenses.

The new SL300LASER searchlight has a brand new developed searchlight drum with a compact diameter of only 300mm. The front glass design is completely flush without any screws or fittings, especially designed to avoid build up or packing of snow and ice in addition to many other features never seen before in the marine searchlight industry.

Features:

-Range: 9 800 meters at 1 lux.

-96 million candela

-500 watt energy consumption for laser unit. Total 700 watt for searchlight.

-300mm diameter searchlight drum, much smaller than a HMI or a XBO searchlight.

-No warm up time, 100% light output from start.

-Reduced maintenance time and operational cost.

-Superior focus performance, 1.5-20 degree stepless spread angle.

-No stray light or light pollution outside the light beam, deck and other obstruckles will remain dark unless it is captured by the focused beam.

-Ultra high light performance (6-7 times longer range than LED searchlights, double of HMI searchlights and similar to the most powerful Xenon searchlights on the market)

-No "dark zone" in the center of the light beam at wide angle due to the unique lens technology.

-No need for external power supplies, lamp ballasts or high voltage ignitors. Very low installation weight.

-Superb EMC compatibilities, no disturbance to other electrical equipment onboard.

-No need for lamp change or stocking spare lamps onboard. 24 times longer lifetime than a twin-head HMI searchlight.

-No need to clean or replace aging reflectors due to loss of light performance.

-Color temperature with major part of blue spectrum. Very suitable to detect ice in arctic environment.

-Brand new designed searchlight drum incuded new flush front pane design, especially developed to avoid build up of snow and ice on front glass. Heated front ring for arctic conditions.

-Lifetime: 12000 hrs. before maintenance required on laser unit.

-Integrated self regulating anti-condensation heaters.

-Manufactured in sea water resistant aluminium providing excellent heat management.

-Up to 6 searchlights can be controlled from the same control panel. Push only one button to swap between searchlights.

-All control panels are full-control panels. No slave panels with limited functions.

-Position indication from control panels.

-Status indication for lamps for all searchlight simultaneously

-Adjustable speed.

-Developed and manufactured in Norway.
